With their treble vocal harmonies and minimal pop invoke, Omnibus Records released Mates of State's number 1 EP as a split with Fighter D in 1999. Upon a relocation to San Francisco, the duo's arcsecond EP, It's the Law/Invitation Inn, and a debut studio apartment effort, My Solo Project, followed in 2000. Tours of the Midwest followed into the side of meat by english year and creative ideas continued to eddy. Hammel and Gardner, wHO were married in early 2001, inked themselves a dole out with Polyvinyl prior to recording a review. Summer years were exhausted playacting shows with Superdrag, the Anniversary, and Beulah patch composition songs on the road. Those roger Huntington Sessions lead to the second record album, Our Constant Concern, in 2002. The side by side generate Polyvinyl reissued their debut album, My Solo Project, and later on the full-length Team Boo. After their contract was up with Polyvinyl (termination with the 2004 EP All Day), Mates of State decided to head all over to Barsuk, the label that released their fourth part record, Bring It Back, in 2006. |

$15 Million Bidding War Over Jolie Twins Picture
America's biggest magazines have launched a bidding war over the first photograph of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's twins - and are willing to pay up to $15 million (£7.5 million) for the exclusive snap. The Tomb Raider star and longtime partner Pitt are currently expecting twins - their fifth and sixth children. And according to Tmz.com, magazines People and OK! are desperate to land the first exclusive shot of the twins. A spokesman for People says, "We'd love to see the photos in People. We wish the family well". Meanwhile, OK!'s representative admits the publication would be "foolish" not to bid for the photos. In 2006, the couple offered the first pictures of daughter Shiloh through distributor Getty Images. People magazine paid more than $4.1 million (£2 million) for the North American rights, while British magazine Hello! obtained the international rights for $3.5 million (£1.75 million). All profits were donated to an undisclosed charity by Jolie and Pitt.

Sibling rivalry may not exactly be a groundbreaking notion in cinema, but sibling rivalry based on the opposing ideologies of Fascism and Communism in 1960�s Italy is � well, you don�t see that everyday.
In My Brother Is An Only Child, filmmaker Daniele Luchetti explores the diametrically-opposed ambitions of two brothers of the same family. Whereas older, handsome Manrico (Riccardo Scamarcio) fights for the rights of the working class, little brother Accio (Elio Germano) is an outright Fascist, getting into scraps and idolizing his hero Mussolini. You can obviously see how they might not get along. Intimidated by the politics of 1960s Italy, you say? No worry. As Luchetti has insisted, �the film does not take a political stand; it talks about people who take stands.�
And it does that well. Ultimately, My Brother isn�t so much about two siblings fighting for their ideologies as it is about two brothers fighting for their identity; a struggle that is heightened once Accio falls in love with Manrico�s girlfriend. This film works because Luchetti captures honest moments of realism and humour. Even if the political details of the day lose you, My Brother still succeeds as an excellent portrait of what it�s like to come of age in 1960s Italy.
